(IDI)
The Intercultural Development Inventory is
used:
- To assist management/HR in career or
succession
planning - specifically in the selection
of employees for international assignments, global team membership, or
leadership of multicultural groups
- As
a guide
to training design in preparation for such assignments (i.e.,
to
develop intercultural competencies)
It is most
useful for evaluating employees in
critical positions where successful interaction with others,
significantly
different from oneself, is crucial. It is a cognitive instrument
revealing a
candidate’s attitude toward otherness.
