eGlobal Language
IOR uses a blended learning approach to achieve maximum success in language training. Blended learning allows a language trainer to combine in-person language instruction methodologies with self-study materials and online exercises designed to enhance the language learner’s progress.
What is eGlobal Language?
-
eGlobal Language is a software tool that enriches face-to-face language training with supplemental online practice activities.
-
Offers 120 hours of online performance-driven communicative activities modeling real-life situations. All activities involve the learner recording samples of spoken language for the trainer to assess.
-
Reinforces what has been presented in face-to-face instruction at the learner’s convenience from virtually anywhere.

Trainer-Learner
Interaction |
Almost exclusively face-to-face and verbal. |
A blend of face-to-face,
online, verbal and written. |
| Flexibility |
Dependent on mutual availability of trainer and learner. Business travel often prevents professionals from scheduling training for 2 or more weeks at a time. |
Even if face-to-face
training is suspended for a period of time,
the traveler can remain engaged with the training
through assigned online
activities completed
conveniently whenever, wherever. |
| Practice Time |
The learner's time to practice responding
to the activity
prompt is limited
to the length
of the lesson. |
A learner can take as
much time as needed
to practice a response
before submitting it to
the trainer for feedback, reinforcing techniques learned during the face-to-face session. |
How does it work?
-
A language trainer assigns one to two performance activities per week to complement the face-to-face training.
-
A learner completes the activitity online on their own time and submits it to their trainer.
-
The trainer provides written and recorded verbal feedback to the learner who can repeat the activity implementing the trainer's feedback. The second repetition also receives a round of feedback.
-
Online assessments are conducted to track the learner's progress during the course of the training.
Who will benefit from it?
- eGlobal Language is most appropriate for High-Intermediate to Low-Advanced English learners. eGlobal Language has the potential to be used for any language.
-
Busy professionals remain engaged with language training even when they are unavailable for face-to-face instruction.
-
All English language learners will benefit from the engaging eGlobal Language activities especially those professionals studying Business English or Business Presentations.
How does it compare to traditional face-to-face instruction?
-
eGlobal Language enriches face-to-face language training rather than replacing it completely.
-
The use of multiple learning modalities appeals to and enhances each student's unique learning style.
