Repatriation
Repatriation. You are going home – the transition should be smooth. But, in fact, repatriation raises multiple unexpected challenges as the expatriate re-integrates back into the home culture. The returning employee will experience numerous repatriation demands on a personal, professional and financial level. One major challenge - repatriation into a work culture that, ironically, now seems foreign.Recent studies have shown that almost one-quarter of repatriates resign within 12 months of their return. This figure rises to 43% over a two-year period. These unfavorable success rates highlight the need for businesses to employ a formal repatriation program. After having spent upwards of $1 million investing in the expatriate process, companies often fail to further invest a relatively tiny sum in repatriation programs to secure that investment. All too often the employee will secure his next position with a competitor.
IOR offers a variety of repatriation programs, including:
- One-day workshops
- Group and individual training programs
- Individual and family coaching
- International Assignment Policy development and review
During an intake conversation, IOR will conduct a needs analysis to help identify critical issues and subsequently design a program addressing the client’s needs. Thereafter, IOR provides a program recommendation including a sample agenda.
Our training staff and consultants are highly qualified, professional trainers who also have real-world experience, which truly comforts an employee who is going through the return transition process.
