Team Building
Today’s business teams may be global, bi-cultural, multi-cultural or virtual. With offices in multiple global locations and growing employee diversity, intercultural team building has become a crucial component of business effectiveness.Employees from multiple cultures may have to adjust to the US business model and culture. Teams in China may need to adjust to Indian and Irish counterparts. Diverse functions, diverse nations, different corporate cultures - misunderstandings inevitably arise. Team conflict and misunderstandings also arise due to cultural differences in communication, decision making, planning, conflict resolution and performance expectations.
IOR’s Team Building programs improve team effectiveness by fostering mutual understanding and respect. Respect leads to more trusted work relationships, increased cultural competence, better communication and improved collaboration among team members.
In IOR’s interactive Team Building programs participants will:
- Explore cultural differences and how they impact operations
- Discuss language issues and how they will be handled
- Determine how to manage conflicting cultural styles
- Clarify and accept team goals
- Establish operational norms for team processes such as decision making
